The scrapbook contains photographs documenting Ware's student days at API. A large number of photographs are of a trip he and friends took to an area lake. The certificate documents Ware's receipt of a letter for varsity basketball in 1925.

East Alabama Male College, sponsored by the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, was chartered in May 1856. Classes opened in 1859 in Auburn, Alabama, but the college closed during the Civil War. Reopening in 1866, the college became a land-grant institution in 1872 and changed its name to Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. Ware, a native of Birmingham, attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University), 1921-1925.
